  1. Following up on YM's response to my previous comment, I posted this, but it was rejected:

    Can you cite a source for your assertion that it is "standard police practice" (by which I assume you mean as authorized by relevant laws and police policies) to transport people shackled and unsecured?

    If the officers are innocent (in dispute), then the justice system will find them so, just as if Freddie Gray was innocent of carrying an illegal knife (in dispute), he would have been cleared. But he doesn't get a trial, and they do.

    Based on sheer number of verses devoted to the topic, the strongest Torah value with respect to law and order is that those entrusted with safeguarding it and therefore with the powers of life and death, are highly regulated and accountable for their actions.
